Video #1 and general comments - Good, firm, strong first 6 steps. Pacing is not bad, but a little 2-tiered (remind me to draw pacing diagrams). Tendency for step-out on 7, which increases radius and reduces Lean (draw pictures of this). We will work on arm drills (8-9-10). Last frame with plant foot still on the ground shows a pretty vertical body which is good, although head is already tipping into arch position. Arch is cheating to the side as we've discussed. Max arch ability is AWESOME! Need to discuss the dimmer concept for allowing more rise-time. Also discuss the falling-reflex concept. High landing and roll-over is good.
Video #2 - Last frame with plant foot on ground you're already well into arching (draw the timeline). Look at the video frame at the very peak of the jump - WOW! that's a nice PURE arch!!! Apex of jump is a little in front of the bar causing the miss - all due to reduced Lean from step-out on 7. Video #3 looks a lot like #2 Video #4 This jump is pretty Huge! Still the little technical flaws of the previous jumps, but MUCH better pacing ramp-up results in more energy and POP at takeoff! Video #5 - Beginning of approach was not caught on video (my bad). Maximum arch occurs way too early, with the peak of the jump well in front of the bar - hard strike on the way down. This jump "stalls" and breaks early because your chin is on your chest during most of the flight. |
