Video #1 - Pacing is pretty good, turn and lean are pretty good, and the release is mostly to vertical for a big clearance. If anything, your
step 7 does not come across as well as we'd like. ALL of these approach aspects can be improved - pacing, Lean, approach shape and release -
to improve your jump even furhter...
Video #2 - Similar to the last one - you need to get 7 across better. 8-9 have OK Lean, but then by the time 10 hits the ground all the lean is gone already; too early. The leading arm is at least leading mostly to vertical, although not providing any lift to the jump. These jumps have "pop" and are getting up high. Look at the last frame with your plant-foot toe still on the ground - that reach to release is BIG and mostly upward - good jump! Video #3 - So this one the pacing of the first 6 is too slow and so the result is step 6 is too far away. You try to pace-up to get there, and you do take off from the same spot as the previous video. But because the turn was slightly less circular you cannot release the jump to vertical like the previous one - compare the angle of release between these 2 jumps - see the difference? Video #4 - This is actually a really good approach and release (it's a miss because the bar was at 4-8). There is nothing wrong with this jump until the top of the arch when you break (kick) out of the arch too soon for the height. The jump had great "pop" and height again, so we are seeing more good than bad releases now! We want to get to 95% (19 out of 20) where the approach and release are like this! |
