Video #1 - The first step in this clip is #4. Count the steps 4-5-6-7-8-9-10! Your pacing ramps up nicely on this approach. Now look frame-by-frame using the right/left cursor arrow keys. The SHAPE of you "J" approach is not what you want. See how steps 8-9-10 are in a really straight line? We want them to be on a circle instead. Another thing we always look at is the LAST frame with your plant foot toe still on the ground. You have a nice vertical arm "release" here - very pretty! But see how your head is already back to arch? You want to wait until you go up a bit before you start to arch so hard... GREAT arch in the air, but you break out of it so quickly - learning to HOLD that arch longer will have you jumping MUCH higher! Also, look what touches the mat first - we want your shoulders to touch first (not your bottom). All good things that we can work on!

Video #2 - We shoot video from this viewpoint (looking along a 45 degree line at the turn of your "J" approach) to see what your Lean looks like. You actually have some nice Lean in steps 7-8-9, but it's all gone before you get to 10 :-( This view shows that you have made the adjustment we worked on in getting your knee THROUGH to make you cross the bar perpendicular, so your body goes over ONE part at a time and not everything all at once - nice job!

Video #3 - Play this clip a few times through and count the steps 5-6-7-8-9-10. The pacing doesn't ramp up like we want. Instead it slows down as you approach the bar, so the jump is just kind of BLAH! with no energy for you to do your amazing thing after you leave the ground. Strong, energetic approach with good "pacing" (ramping up of energy) is the KEY to a strong jump!

Video #4 - WAY better pacing on THIS attempt - lots of energy at the bar!!! You are way, Way, WAY over 4'6" here - you just "break" out of the arch too soon right at the very top of the jump. It's a timing thing where you need to learn how to HOLD that arch until you WANT to kick out and complete the jump - we can totally work on that :-)
