Video #1 - Start counting on 3 as you watch this clip.
Energy OK 306, but then look at 7-8-9-10. SUPER tiny little quick steps that may SOUND right, but add no speed or energy to the approach - just like we discussed at practice. Step 10 placement seems far from the crossbar to me, but then I realize that because you're not staying ABOVE enough at take-off and are initiating Arch so quickly - ON/OFF switch - this step 10 placement is needed to place the apex of your jump over the center of the bar. No rise time in this jump. Video #2 - This approach & jump are a little better all the way around. Lean and some small pace-up in 7-8-9-10. Strong leg & arm drive together at takeoff. You're experiencing the falling reflex break, but we'll work on that in week 6... Video #3 - More like the first jump than the second... Video #4 - With 6 behind the 45 (steep) and the choppy turn, your 10 is again too far away from the crossbar. At least here I see a high shoulder landing which is good and I noticed was missing from Video #1. Video #5 - Under the bar at 10, but I actually love this 7-8-9-10 attack very much! Not quite enough Lean to control your placement of 10, which would have been right where we want it - CLOSER to the bar and relying on an ABOVE Release to re-shap your parabola to be taller and narrower. Same energy under the curve but shaped for maximum height... We will continue to work on this! |
