Video #1 - This approach is S-L-O-W. 70% effort should be the least you ever run an approach - this one is 50% or less.
The end of your "J" approach could be more circular, but you actually Lean OK throughout your turn. Shoulders turn away
from the bar too early. Your hips drive up nicely, but shoulders need to stay "Above" so they are not already going down
while your hips are still rising.
Video #2 - Better on speed/effort here - this one's maybe 60%. Knee drive is BIG, but arms are tiny - elbows next to your side the whole time. Last frame with Plan-foot toe still on the ground shows a pretty vetical release initially, but then the first frame with toe off the ground reveals shoulders "dumping" toward the bar again. This jump you cross over the bar more diagonal - need to bring your knee through at takeoff for a more perpendicular crossing. Again shoulders definitely falling while hips are still rising... Video #3 - Weak approach - less than 50% on this one. No speed = no lean, and you have to release the jump toward the landing pit. Go back and forth between the frames where you leave the ground - look at this release angle THROUGH the bar... Video #4 - See - better energy = better jump! This one is 60% or more and looks much better. Approach turn needs to be more circular... Much better here, too, at holding your arch PAST the peak of the jump - nice in-air execution. Video #5 - 50% and... ICK! This one just DIES at the bar! Your plant leg gives out a bit... Not a good jump to critique. |
